DESCRIPTION:
F. Kroeber Clock Co., New York, "Regulator No. 19", a large ebonized 'Vienna' style regulator, with 10 inch dial and longer 66 beat pendulum, the porcelain dial with spade hands and seconds bit, and with nickel plated bezel, bob and pulley, from the Kent Kroeber collection, log #26, c.1885.
CONDITION:
overall excellent restored condition, the case was totally re-done with a gesso base before new ebonizing. Movement cleaned and in good running order, serial #12652, with matching number on mount and pendulum. Note there is a repair to the crutch, and a center spot on the brass bob where the nickel is worn through. This very clock is pictured in Ly's book on Kroeber, page 465. Ly price guide = $4000.
